To remove the six parking spaces outside the Personal Ice cake shop in North Street makes absolutely no sense – Fears new road plan could damage shops (Keighley News, February 9).
Parking in front of the shops doesn’t interfere with the traffic flow. In fact, it helps to keep vehicles on a straight course.
Parking spaces have been vital to the success of Personal Ice. No doubt Mrs Smith-Travers, who rents the shop, will be thinking about the ‘great deal of money and time’ she has invested in Personal Ice and wondering if it was worth the trouble. The last thing she wants is for Bradford Council to ride roughshod over her hard work.
I’ve always believed changes cannot be made without some people benefitting from the changes and other people are adversely affected. But Bradford Council seems determined to make a change that will benefit nobody.
