I WAS diagnosed aged 68 with coeliac disease after years of abdominal pains and distress.
A gluten-free diet is now a must for the rest of my life.
The small amounts of staple foods I am allowed on prescription are basic but absolutely necessary to maintain good health.
It is a complete lifestyle change for families when a member is diagnosed with coeliac.
If I were diabetic or had an infection I would be given medication – my medication is my diet.
Please CCG, don’t take good health away from coeliac patients – Anger at plans to axe prescriptions (Keighley News, February 23).
