SO we are now in such dire straits the headteachers of local schools have written to our two esteemed parliamentary representatives to beg that they are up a creek without a paddle and the waterfalls are in sight – School budgets at ‘breaking point’ (Keighley News, February 9).

Other glances at articles throughout the paper tell us about NHS staff that are going to be paying more to park at their workplace, tax rises to compensate for Government cuts and numerous other ‘nets’ being pulled from essential services.

We are in a time of crisis when vast swathes of the population are being ‘punished’ for the disastrous economic policies of others.

I can never recall a time when headteachers have been pushed so far in terms of being denied the ability to provide a decent education for the next generation that they actually have to write to the press and two of the least compassionate MPs in the country to ask for money to educate our children.

Perhaps Mr Davies will be able to talk any funding changes out, as that seems to be his usual tactic when representing his constituents.
