THE unpleasant events in London last week show less that there are malign little men intent on hurting no matter whom, but more that there are other men of great kindness, resourcefulness and courage.
The moving images of MP Tobias Ellwood, bloodied and despairing, who attempted mouth-to-mouth and CPR on the stabbed and dying police officer, underlines not that “our democratic way of life will remain unchanged” but that someone with compassion and love of his fellow man was willing to try to save a life in a very close physical way, which jeopardised his own.
He stands out as a bright light of goodness dwarfing the evil another had spread.
Mr Ellwood, I sincerely salute you. Respect.
