WHILST we are informed Bradford Council has plans for the now-derelict site in the centre of town, might I add my current observations.
Anti-Bradford Council feeling is rising in this part of the metropolitan district and now this iconic area of Keighley has gone, the people of Keighley are waiting to see just how the rudderless Bradford Council will steer the new site forward.
Seriously, a firm, forward-thinking phoenix-from-the-flames approach is needed to regenerate tired old Keighley.
My solution is a complete flat area, whereby any organisation, institution or group could use the central site as an attraction. Each week there would be something different to promote. This would give much-needed publicity to the town. Also, all this vibrancy would cost the council virtually nowt and make Keighley more than just a satellite.
