MY WIFE and I are floating voters and for the time being we want to keep Theresa May in to continue building up the economy and get Brexit fully executed, but we can’t see ourselves putting an ‘x’ against Kris Hopkins.
He promised to take on the parking ‘fines’ problem in Cavendish Retail Park in response to a deluge of complaints on the 14,000-strong ‘You know you’ve lived in Keighley...’ Facebook site, of which he is a member. But after the election, when I for one tackled him about his lack of action, he said to me: “You should take them to court.”
Regarding the Aire Valley Incinerator, he has not listened to the huge backlash of Keighley people, not least of which are the 7,500+ on the Aire Valley Against Incineration Facebook site, who are rightly horrified at the lunatic prospect of an incinerator at the bottom of an inversion-prone valley. He’s not at all interested, and actually backs the incinerator (but doesn’t live in its projected exhaust area, of course).
