Whilst a local MP like Kris Hopkins should work hard for the benefit of his area, this is not the case in Keighley, where the Tory Party line is the winner every time.

An example is the Government’s planned school funding cuts. University Academy Keighley, by 2022, will lose £1,487,524, which equals £2,491 per pupil and 38 staff job losses.

Beckfoot Oakbank School will lose £618,726, which equals £463 per pupil and 16 members of staff. This is the same across the whole of Bradford district.

They also propose to take away free school lunches, replacing them with a breakfast at a cost of £0.07 per pupil and more job losses.

Our children’s education is important. I encourage people to check the schoolcuts.org.uk website to see how their children’s school will be affected. I will be voting against the school cuts and Aire Valley incinerator on June 8 and for Labour.
