I REFER to your article on the front page of last week's Keighley News – Outrage at hospital as car parking nets £2.4 million – regarding hospital car parking charges, and to the comment from the Airedale NHS Foundation Trust.
The trust states that these charges bring it in line with others across West Yorkshire. This is just not so.
Last week I had reason to go to the BRI – which is also part of an NHS Foundation Trust – and the charges are £2.50 for up to two hours, £3.50 for up to three hours, £4.50 for up to four hours, £5.50 for up to five hours and £8 for five to eight hours.
It's a pity the person responsible didn't check the Bradford website, which is perfectly clear on its charges. Therefore, why can't we have at least the same charges, with the appropriate breaks rather than such large differences, where now two hours and five minutes cost £5 at Airedale, compared to £3.50 in Bradford? Answers please.
