I RECENTLY had the sad misfortune of the loss of my father-in-law.
My wife and I have inherited his house, and during the past year or so we have had the sad task of emptying the house of his clothes etc.
We are moving in eventually, but need to get furniture out so we can put our own stamp on it.
Most of the clothes and some of the furniture have been donated to several charity shops in Keighley, however we still have a teak bureau and display cabinet.
But, for whatever reason, nobody wants them. Apparently they are too old!
I keep hearing on television and through various media that charities would love you to donate. It frustrates me when I get told “we cannot have them because no one will have them”.
When I had nothing, I would accept something just to put me on.
If anyone would like the items, I will let you have them but you must collect them. I look forward to hearing from anyone with a passion maybe for upcycling.
