T is unbelievable that the so-called Police and Crime Commissioner can say about the police station, and I quote: “This is not just about the money. This is about providing newer and better-placed policing buildings for officers and staff to work from”.

First of all there are not many larger or newer buildings in Keighley than the one they’re in, and it was the police who decided to move to where the police station is now, in the sticks.

Now, Mr Burns-Williamson, who is going to pay back the taxpayers who provided all the new cells that have never been used, and is the taxpayer going to benefit from the money raised through the sale of the police station?

Put the manned police station back where it was on North Street.
