I READ with interest the article about cracking down on litter offenders – Crackdown on litter offenders (Keighley News, November 30).
I have just picked up my 58th bag of litter around Riddlesden.
I try to recycle as much of it as I can in my own recycling bin.
Two weeks ago the council refused to take my recycling bin because it contained McDonald’s drinks cartons.
Despite ringing the council, I had to remove them and put them in the general waste bin before my bin was emptied.
Readers beware when you pick up litter what you put in your own recycling bin.
Despite e-mailing McDonald’s, I have had no response to my enquiry as to why the cartons cannot be recycled.
