VISITING Cliffe Castle on Good Friday – a ‘public holiday’ – with my wife, granddaughter and two great grandchildren, I was surprised to find the museum closed.
Secondly, as it was closed, the vehicle barrier stopped disabled visitors using the parking adjacent to the museum. Surely when the area was nicely revamped, the new vehicular barrier should have been positioned to allow the disabled parking to be used. PETER J WILD

* A spokesman for Bradford Council, which runs the museum, said: “The two disabled parking bays located outside the museum are allocated for visitors to the museum. “Your reader is correct in saying the barrier allowing vehicle access to the museum is locked when Cliffe Castle is closed.
“However, there also two disabled parking bays in the main car park next to the entrance to the park, terrace and new glasshouse. The car park remains open 24/7, as are all pathways and pedestrian routes into the park.”
