THERE seemed to be a lot of hot air spouted about Bradford Council’s closure of Haworth’s public toilets, simply because Haworth is a tourist area and the council was closing those toilets in order to save money.
The truth is that money must be saved, as Bradford Council has a lot of expenses.
And one of those expenses is the 460 employees who receive over £50,000 per annum in wages, plus of course any NI contributions, and a little bit for some pensions.
Let’s call it ‘employees costing the council tax payer over £65,000/annum’.
So can we please stop berating Bradford Council for saving money? We can see where it’s going, and how well earned it is!
