THE end of last term was very busy for Strong Close Nursery School.
The school had an Ofsted inspection shortly followed by the sad news of the planned closure of the day nursery managed by Pre-School Learning Alliance, which operates from the same building and provides nursery places for children under three and wrap-around for children attending our school.
We were delighted that the report acknowledged how well the school has dealt with the challenges it has faced, with the retirement of the leadership team last summer, and captures the wonderful professionalism of the whole of the staff team in dealing with these changes.
The recent closure of Pre School Learning Alliance led to a difficult time for some families but we were relieved that we were able to gain approval from the local authority to run wrap-around provision for the children attending nursery school.
I am so proud of everyone in the organisation who has remained so positive throughout the challenges both past and present. We know that there will be more to come with the local authority's proposed changes to children's centre services, however as the report shows, the nursery school remains strong.
