NORTH Yorkshire libraries are setting out to inspire people of all ages to have a go at learning something new during the Festival of Learning, from June 19 to 25.

Co-ordinated by the National Learning and Work Institute and supported by the Department for Education, the aim of the festival is to inspire people nationwide into lifelong learning for the positive and transformational effect it can have on lives.

Learning is one of the Society of Chief Librarians’ universal offers, as in its words “libraries are there for you throughout your learning journey, because they are in your local area and they are open and accessible to all”.

North Yorkshire libraries will have something for everyone, whether you already love to learn, are thinking about learning something new or are involved in organising learning activities for others.

If you want to keep your mind active or learn with others from your community, visit a library close to you to take part in this year’s Festival of Learning.
