I TOOK my mother-in-law, Edith Gallagher, to the war memorial at St John’s, Ingrow, on Saturday, November 11.
Her brother, Frederick Burgess, was killed in action in France aged 21 years.
Fred’s name is on the memorial and Edith has paid her respects there every year when possible. It is a very special day for her.
Edith will be a splendid 99 years old next month.
I am so happy with the photo and thought you might like to share it with your readers.
3254703 Rifleman Frederick Burgess 9th Cameronians (Scottish Rifles) 29.6.1944, aged 21. Son of Fredrick and Sarah Ann Burgess, of Keighley. Lest we forget.
