SUGDEN End tip at Cross Roads needs to stay open.

Last time this threat arose, we won, and we need to win again.

Bradford Council should use some common sense or learn from experience. As Councillor Rebecca Poulsen points out, to close the facility would be short-sighted and poorly thought out.

Our area needs the tip, otherwise people would have to drive through Keighley to the other side of town, causing more traffic hold-ups, possibly more accidents, and using more petrol.

I regularly go to Sugden End throughout the year with my garden rubbish and other things. It is a lovely team there, and very helpful. In the autumn I have around eight bags full of leaves – not my leaves, but ones which blow into my drive, nearly all of them coming from trees on the roadside opposite.

What will we do if the tip is closed? As an honest citizen I have always disapproved of fly-tipping, but the temptation will cross people's minds. As Rebecca has stated, the council will have the cost of removing all the fly-tipped rubbish, so spend the money instead on Sugden End and keep our countryside tidy.

This site is essential to our area and I hope all will make their views known.
