BRADFORD Council is not the only authority in the country with financial problems, but one cannot help feel that it is partly culpable.

Once again the innocent taxpayer will have to shoulder the incompetence of those in which we naively put our trust.

I see one of the proposals is to close Sugden End waste facility, sheer folly once more. This suggestion is from a council that worries about air pollution in Bradford yet is now quite happy to make people drive many miles to dispose of their rubbish.

I hope another target on its 'hit list' is not Keighley Library, although I believe this has been in the council's 'cross hairs' for some time? Our library is one of the remaining gems in a somewhat rusty crown.

I am not opposed to a council tax rise, every council has one each year. But I am against it funding stupidity and waste.
