Visitors to Halifax children’s museum Eureka! should get their Scooby snacks ready during the half-term holidays.

The Scooby Gang will be carrying out investigations during the museum’s Hallowe’en celebrations, until November 3.

Shaggy, Velma, Daphne and Fred are calling on visitors’ help to solve an Egyptian mystery following the disappearance of Scooby himself.

Youngsters will be able to make hieroglyphics, mummify their mummies and help answer the most important question: Scooby Doo, where are you?

Sleuthing activities will take families all around Eureka!, including through the museum’s new £2.9 million gallery All About Me, with more than 100 new interactive exhibits exploring the human body.

Visitors will also have the opportunity to get up close and personal with some creepy crawlies at weekends during the October half-term, with special animal and insect handling drop-in sessions.

All activities are free with standard admission or a Eureka! annual pass.

Over at the Royal Armouries in Leeds, the Dark Knights head the Hallowe’en activities.

Visitors can explore the myth and legend behind vampires, watch a stunt-riding horse show or attend a huge Hallowe’en party.

Events run from October 26 to November 3, and although admission to the museum is free, charges apply for some activities.
