Bosses at a Keighley radio station have gone on “big radio” to talk about their latest project.

Andy Sheppard and Brian Leach (above with Shona Grange), from community station Jam Radio, were last week interviewed on the BBC Radio Leeds breakfast show.

They spoke about their plans to broadcast a regular soap opera like The Archers, but set in Keighley.

Jam Radio, based in Dalton Lane, has teamed up with Keighley community group the Welcome Project to create the drama. The project is entitled Artful Jammy Dodgers, and involves creating a weekly radio show with other items alongside the soap.

Jam is seeking people to write scripts, act, record, sound edit and make jingles. They also want to recruit radio presenters and roving reporters.

Brian said: “Whether you enjoy the limelight or prefer behind the scenes, we have something for you!”
