Chris Bonsall is to hang up his hat as organiser of Ingleton Folk Weekend after 13 successful years.
Having brought folk legends such as Ralph McTell, Kate Rusby, Eliza Carthy and Kathryn Tickell to the village, Chris felt the time was right to pursue other interests.
The Ingleton District Trades People’s Association – which has always always underwritten the event – is keen the festival should not fold altogether.
As a result, the group’s treasurer, Mat Cooper, landlord at the Wheatsheaf Inn, is taking over the reins of what will become a slightly smaller event.
The festival will now be called the Ingleton Folk Gathering and, as before, will take place on the first week in October. Visit ingletonfolk.co.uk for details.
