The return of an international amateur film festival to Keighley is already promising to a be a big hit.

The River Aire Ten Minute Amateur festival (RATMA) is being organised by students at Keighley Campus Leeds City College.

People from across the world have been invited to submit short films for the April 26 event, with the deadline for submissions expiring on Saturday.

College tutor and event organiser, Marcus Gregg, speaking ahead of the deadline, said: “Tickets have now gone on sale online.

“It’s been amazing this year – so far we’ve had double the amount of entries we had last time, and we’re expecting a last minute rush before Saturday.

“A lot more countries are getting involved – we’ve had submissions from places like the Philippines and Ecuador, and it’s almost a full-time job just to download all the entries. We are still looking for about three or four more sponsors for different categories.”

Mr Gregg added this year people can buy tickets for the festival in return for a donation of their choice.
