The Brontë Parsonage Museum promises a cornucopia of enjoyable events through the spring.

There will be creative workshops for little ones, acclaimed art exhibitions and 120th birthday celebrations.

Attractions include The Brontës and Animals, a quirky exhibition aimed at both animal lovers and families.

It explores the relationship the Brontës had with animals and how this was reflected in their works.

A museum spokesman said: “The Brontë novels are full of cameo appearances from man’s best friend.”

The Brontë Film Season is currently running, including the 1943 version of Jane Eyre tomorrow and 1946 Brontë biopic Devotion on Saturday.

The Parsonage will celebrate World Book Day on April 23 at 7pm with a free reading from the latest novel by playwright Samantha Ellis.

Easter holiday workshops include Eggs! Eggs! Eggs! on April 16, where visitors can use dyeing and painting to transform eggs.

Visitors can put pen to paper on April 24 after being inspired by pictures and objects in the exhibitions.

And on April 15 and 22 there will be the Churchyard Challenge where people can try to identify mini-beasts and unusual plants, and take part in a graveyard trail.
