Circus Starr are giving two sell-out performances on April 30 as they return to Silsden.

Around 1,000 children and their parents and carers will see the show on the town’s car boot sale site.

Some proceeds from the show, which features circus performers from across the world, will go to Manorlands.

The show has been sold out for weeks thanks to donations from local businesses to provide tickets to more than 30 children’s charities, support groups and special schools.

Circus Starr director, Neville Wilson, said: “The children we invite to our shows face many challenges.

“Some have physical disabilities or learning difficulties, others have life-limiting illnesses or are living in refuges.

“For all of them, life is a struggle and few ever have the chance to experience a live show such as ours. “We simply could not do this without the support we receive from Keighley businesses, from the big corporations to the sole traders. Every donation we receive makes a difference to these children’s lives.”

Any surplus funds raised by Circus Starr’s touring show are donated to a local charity, and the nominated partner charity for the Silsden show is Manorlands Hannah Taylor, the regional fundraising manager for Sue Ryder Care, which runs Manorlands, said she was delighted Circus Starr had again chosen to support the hospice.

She said: “Every day we need to raise more than £4,000 to provide our services at, and from, Manorlands.” Circus Starr’s new show features Nicolino the Clown, Chinese pole and aerial strap performances from the Serik Brothers, and juggling and acrobatics from the Velenciuc Troupe, plus dance, music and illusion.

Circus Starr welcomes any donation, big or small, to help buy tickets for vulnerable, sick or disabled children. Anyone wishing to donate should contact Circus Starr on 01260 288690.
