It has been announced that hit comedy One Man Two Guvnors is coming to Bradford this summer.

The National Theatre’s multi award-winning production was a West End and Broadway hit starring TV comedy actor James Corden.

It is the comic tale of Francis Henshall who, fired from his skiffle band, becomes minder to Roscoe Crabbe.

But Roscoe is really Rachel, posing as her own dead brother – who’s been killed by her boyfriend, Stanley Stubbers.

Francis spots the chance of an extra meal ticket and takes a job with Stanley Stubbers – but to prevent discovery he must keep his two guvnors apart.

The show has been described as a glorious celebration of British comedy, a laugh-out-loud mix of satire, songs, slapstick and glittering one-liners.

The acclaimed production is based on Richard Bean’s version of Carlo Goldoni’s classic Italian comedy, The Servant Of Two Masters.

Shaun Williamson, best known as hapless Barry Evans in EastEnders, will play Charlie Clench, alongside West End star Gavin Spokes, playing the central role of loveable chancer Francis Henshall. He previously played the role in the West End.

One Man Two Guvnors runs at the Alhambra from July 21 to 26. Call (01274) 432000 or visit bradford-theatres.co.uk for further information.
