Burnley singer-songwriter Lucy Zirins will cross the border not once but twice next month.

She will perform in Keighley and Haworth following successful visits in recent years.

Lucy has won lots of plaudits for her music, including a British Blues Award and top prizes from Blues Matters magazine.

She combines original material with blues, country, soul, folk and gospel numbers in her

set.

Lucy picked up the guitar at the age of 12 after inheriting one from her late uncle, and she began songwriting early on.

She was gigging solo at the age of 16, also recording her first EP, and within two more years had performed in Italy and France.

In 2010 Lucy was chosen by PRS For Music to play a high-profile London event recognising the UK’s most promising young talent.

Lucy’s debut album Chasing Clocks was produced by mentor Michael Messer and featured some of the UK’s finest musicians including BJ Cole on pedal steel, and Richard Causon on keyboards.

Lucy was nominated for three awards at the 2013 British Blues Awards and won Young Artist of the Year.

Lucy will perform at the Boltmakers Arms, East Parade, Keighley, on July 2 at 8pm. Admission is free.

She will play a triple-header with young singer-songwriter’s Emily Sargant and Rosa Sargent – who are both popular on the Haworth and Keighley circuit – at the Cobbles And Clay Cafe, Main Street, Haworth, on July 20 from 7pm. Tickets cost £5 on the door.

Lucy’s summer tour will also take in Leeds, Scarborough, Colne, Bentworth, and Congleton.
