AN ICY chill will fall over Skipton’s Mart Theatre this weekend as students of Bad Wolf Theatre Company present The Lion, The witch And The Wardrobe.
The piece – based on the fantasy novel by CS Lewis – will be performed by the senior students who meet on Tuesday evenings at Skipton Girls’ High School.
It will be the first time the group has performed without the support of primary school children.
Members are drawn from across Skipton and South Craven.
Bad Wolf artistic director Andy Lynan said: “The group really wanted to do something alone and to take part in a piece that wasn’t devised by them.
“But it was difficult finding a script with enough characters that were suitable for their ages and for a family audience.”
Eventually the theatre group opted for The Lion, The Witch And The Wardrobe, which is about four children who enter a wardrobe and find themselves in the wintry, fantasy land of Narnia, with talking animals, mythical creatures and a White Witch.
And, to give all the young thespians a chance to perform, there will be two shows with different casts.
The show will be performed on Saturday at 5pm and on Sunday at 1pm
