THE SKELETAL FAMILY plans to return to America following its successful gigs across the continent last year.

The leading Goth rock band, which hails from Keighley, is gazing across the Atlantic while trying to stay busy at home in 2014.

Skels musician Roger “Trotwood” Nowell said this year had a lot to live up to following the glories of 2013.

He said: “The gigs in Los Angeles, San Diego and Mexico were amazing – sold-out shows with the crowd singing along to songs.

“Of course we hope to go back. Plans are being made to do the East and West coast, and also South America.

“The internet has made the world a very small place.”

Skeletal Family, who were nationally popular in the 1980s with songs like Promised Land, have gathered many new fans since reforming in recent years.

This year began with the band’s musicians preparing songs for new album while singer Anne Marie Hurst at three months recovering from a knee operation.

Roger said: “Despite only doing a couple of gigs this year the band’s profile seems to be going from strength.

“Our Promised Land Youtube video had over half a million plays. Our Facebook page went over 20.000 last weekend.

“We also have a tour with Salvation in October which we are looking forward to.”

Skeletal Family will play the Rebellion Festival in Blackpool tomorrow, and perform with Danse Society Reincarnated on Saturday at the Exchange Arts Centre in Keighley.
