THE organisers of Haworth's popular Groovy Happening are "on tour" again later this month - travelling all the way to their favourite Keighley venue.

The team has promised a brilliant line-up of performers, who will be entertaining discerning listeners at the Exchange Arts Centre, in Russell Street.

The night on Saturday August 23 will feature two acts who are new to the Groovy Happening, as well as a pair of old favourites.

Proceeds from the evening will be going towards Oxenhope's Manorlands Hospice.

Acts will include Alter Skye. They are a five-piece alternative rock, prog, blues, acoustic and indie band from Keighley, who formed early last year. This will be the first time the band has played for Groovy Happening.

Haworth’s Emily Sargant will be back again to play a mix of original and acoustic covers. Emily is a regular performer on the acoustic music scene around Keighley and the Worth Valley. She now runs a successful, monthly open mic night at Cobbles & Clay Café in Main Street, Haworth. She played her first Groovy gig in December 2012.

Also performing on August 23 will be Rachael Hannah McCaul. She is a 24-year-old singer and song writer who has risen from the depths of Leeds, and spent time living in London.

She will bring with her a mixture of Yorkshire, Scottish, Irish and Middle Eastern ancestry and aims to captivate gig-goers you with her fiery voice and her acoustic guitar.

Her music is described as powerful, passionate and soulful, adding a pinch of blues, a touch of northern spice and some husky rock and roll, each revealing a different flavour, story and sound to her music.

Her influences span from old school R’n’B and Motown to current artists such as KT Tunstall, Arctic Monkeys and Lianne La Havas, all of which continue to inspire her and contribute to her lyrical creativity.

The night will include a raffle in aid of Manorlands, and the live music sets will be followed by a disco .

Admission will be £3 on the door. Doors open at 7.30pm.
