AN AWARD winning musical will be delighting audiences in Leeds later this year.

Direct from its tremendous success in London, where it picked up three Olivier awards for the Best New Musical, Best Choreography and Best Costumes, the spectacular West End production Top Hat will return to Leeds Grand Theatre.

The musical, which impressed audiences at this venue back in 2011, brings the glamour of Hollywood's golden age and the glorious tap-dancing magic of Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers to the stage.

The show is packed full of Irving Berlin's greatest hits, including Cheek to Cheek, Top Hat, White Tie & Tails, Let's Face the Music and Dance and Puttin' on the Ritz.

Top Hat tells the story of Broadway sensation Jerry Travers, who dances his way across Europe to win the heart of society girl Dale Tremont.

An uplifting and hilarious romantic comedy, which celebrates the very best of 1930s song, style and romance, this musical will dazzle you with over 200 beautiful costumes, breathtaking dance and a love story guaranteed to set pulses racing.

The show will run from late December to early January, with the first performance taking place at 7.30pm on Tuesday December 23. Ticket prices range from £47 to £25. Call the box office on 0844 8482700 to book.

Also at the Leeds Grand, a little earlier in the season, is Northern Ballet's Peter Pan, running from December 11 to December 20.

This timeless magical adventure to Neverland with the boy who never grew up is a Christmas favourite. It features breathtaking flying, suspense, nostalgia and danger just round the corner, as Captain Hook and his pirates look to take revenge.

With stunning dancing, a spectacular set created by designer Peter Mumford and music by Oscar-winning composer Stephen Warbeck, this is one of the Northern Ballet Company's most enchanting productions.

Evening performances are at 7pm, and tickets range from £40 to £10.50. Call the box office for details on concessions for children.
