ALAN CLARK has celebrated 20 years as musical director of Steeton Male Voice Choir.
He has conducted the Steeton singers at more than 570 concerts across the district, the country and on European tours.
He is only the fourth musical director the choir has had since it was founded in 1908.
Choir spokesman Eric Parker said: “Throughout the years Alan has brought the choir to a very high standard of male voice choral singing.
“The proof of this is the many requests that the choir receives to perform concerts in this country and abroad.
“Alan works tirelessly for the choir and many of our favourite pieces are songs that he has arranged or adapted himself.
Alan’s wife Christine heads up the choir’s ladies group, which this year will provide meals or refreshments for visiting choirs at six concerts."
The choir will perform with Budleigh Salterton Male Voice Choir at All Saints Church, Ilkley, on Saturday at 7pm.
The choir will perform with Anston Male Voice Choir, from South Yorkshire, at Keighley Shared Church on September 27, at 7pm.
