THE AUTUMN season at a Keighley town centre pub begins with this month.

Comedy @ The Cricketers is described as “the finest comedy night in West Yorkshire, strictly speaking”.

The September 25 opener aims to live up to that description with a quartet of guests to exercise the chuckle muscles.

Resident MC Chris Brooker will introduce a line-up featuring Mickey D, Richard Massara,  Al McWilliam & Graham Milton.

Headline act Mickey D comes to Keighley after a roaring month at the Edinburgh Festival hosting international cult comedy show Setlist.

Chris said: “Australian Mickey has been tearing up comedy clubs all around the world, putting audiences at ease with his effortless charm before leaving them breathless with his killer punchlines.

“With boundless enthusiasm and an infectious smile, Mickey will leave you wanting more.”

Support comes in the “distinctly dashing” form of Richard Massara.

Chris said: “He is a suave and sophisticated soul who will be serving his own distinctive brand of debonaire wit interspersed with some good, honest filth.”

The comedy night will also feature rising acts Al McWilliam and Graham Milton.

Chris added: “The seasons might well change but the sheer, unabashed quality of comedy on offer at The Cricketers' Arms won't be dropping along with the temperature this month.”

“Tickets are still an austerity-busting five pounds making this one of the best value comedy clubs as well as one of the best.

“An incredible night of laughter in the warm embrace of Keighley's friendliest hostelry – you won't find better.”
Call at the Cricketers' Arms, on Coney Lane, to buy tickets, or alternatively email worthbrew@aol.com or visit cricketersarmskeighley.co.uk for further information.

The Cricketers Arms also hosts live music. Coming up are rock covers band Sawdust (tomorrow), blues band Monitor (Saturday), and flamenco guitarist Kevin Kitchen (September 27).
