HALLOWEEN will see deadly doctors and mutant patients roaming a Leeds museum.

Brave members of the public can join the zombies at the Thackray Medical Museum on the night of October 31.

Outbreak on Ward 13 is for over 18’s only, who will be able to wander the museum’s corridors in pitch black.

Liz Egan, the museum’s Learning Manager, said that exploring the galleries of the old workhouse building could be unnerving at the best of times.

She said: “Try visiting when the museum has been plunged into darkness and you may just wish you could switch the lights back on!”

For those who make it through the galleries and need to calm their shattered nerves, the Blind Dead McJones band will host an after party until 12.30am with live music and bar.

The October 31 event begins at 9.30pm and runs for three hours.

Visit thackraymedicalmuseum.co.uk or call 0113 2444343 to book tickets.

Discounts apply for groups of 13 or more, and visitors are encouraged to get into the spirit by attending in Halloween fancy dress.

There are also children’s activities at the Thackray Medical Museum this month, an October 4, 11 and 18 between 11am and 3pm.

Visitors can get in touch with their emotions through the power of art, as part of the national Big Draw initiative.

Visitors can express their feelings in a drawing before attaching it to a balloon and releasing it into the sky.
