ELVIS Presley is in the building on October 31 as tribute artist Paul Thorpe returns to the Octagon.

Paul first performed at the club on Bradford Road, Sandbeds, in May this year.

Owner John Pennington said: “The audience stood up and gave applause like never before. They demanded several encores.”

John, who admits not being a huge fan of Elvis himself, was so impressed he invited Paul back.

John said he wanted more people to see such an amazing act.

He said: “Paul’s tribute is not tongue-in-cheek, it is pure entertainment, especially for the ladies.

“There are all the Presley hits over three decades. Paul is a nice person, even the sideburns are real.”

London-born Paul turned professional at 21, and 15 years later he is in great demand from the theatre world.

The Octagon, which was opened in a converted factory, regularly hosts a range of pop, rock, soul and comedy acts, including most recently the cult comedian Charlie Chuck.

Tickets will cost £3 on the door. Call 01274 562272 for details.
