SWORD, sorcery and plenty of great costumes are set to come to a Silsden pub this Saturday. (Nov 15)

The Robin Hood Pub will be hosting a 12-hour Game of Thrones spectacular – complete with its own "Iron Throne".

Landlord Darren Robinson is a massive fan of the hit television drama.

The episodes are themselves based on a best selling series of books, which follow the brutal power struggles between rival royal clans in a vividly imagined fantasy world.

"It was my idea as something different to do at the pub, and it should be a fantastic day," said Mr Robinson, who is set to be pulling pints as the appropriately known The King's Hand.

Other staff and many regulars at the Kirkgate pub will also be in costume, and have been invited to come dressed as their favourite characters from the series.

Mr Robinson added: "We're hoping loads of people come and join in, as it's also a fundraiser for Upper Wharfedale Fell Rescue.

"And there'll be lots of fun stuff going on – for example we're having a dragon's leg challenge, where people are challenged to eat a whole spicy hot turkey leg against the clock."
