BEN ‘BLUE’ Waters’s blues and roots nights are back in business!

The singer-songwriter has found a third venue for the monthly event after hosting them at pubs in Ingrow and Haworth.

Ben is remaining in Haworth, using the Black Bull on Main Street, which has become a hive of musical activity in recent months.

Ben said that if the first three nights, on November 30, December 21 and January 18, were successful, then they would continue throughout 2015.

Headliner for the first night will be renowned folk singer Damian Clarke, with his hammer dulcimer and hurdy-gurdy.

They said: “There will also be unaccompanied songs that Damian encourages audiences to sing along to, all passionately delivered.”

Damian tours regularly in Europe, and also performs with popular rock-folk bank Pressgang.

Ben added: “Damian’s last visit to this area was two years ago, when he played to a captivated audience at the Great Northern in Keighley.

“This is a rare chance to see a master performer play unusual traditional folk instruments, and a good time and friendly atmosphere is guaranteed.”

The December 21 concert will be a triple-header featuring the serial songs of Kathryn Luxford, the country blues of Jake Sleepy Segrave, and blues and ragtime from duo Gerry Cooper and Phil Snell.

Ben said: “The nights will feature the best acoustic blues, folk, and country acts from around West Yorkshire, and there will also be space for singer songwriters, doing mainly original material.”

The events will run from 7.30pm to 10.30pm.
