WILD WEST musical Calamity Jane can be seen at the Alhambra Theatre next month.

West End star Jodie Prenger plays the title role in the classic show at the Bradford venue.

Jodie made her West End debut as Nancy in Oliver! after winning TV talent show I’d Do Anything, and she went on to appear in Spamalot and One Man Two Guvnors.

She is also a regular presenter on BBC Radio 2.

Jodie performs in Calamity Jane alongside Tom Lister, who appeared in Emmerdale, playing Wild Bill Hickok. There is a supporting cast of multi-talented actor/musicians.

Calamity Jane can outrun and outshoot any man in the Wild West town of Deadwood.

Hard, boastful and desperate to impress, she travels to Chicago to recruit a star for the local saloon. But things don’t go too smoothly for Calamity, when everyone in town favours the new girl and she struggles to keep her jealousy and pride in check.

It takes Calamity's long-standing enemy Wild Bill Hickok to make her see sense, and realise her 'secret love'.

The musical, whose original film version starred Doris Day, features an Oscar-nominated score that includes The Black Hills Of Dakota, The Deadwood Stage (Whip-Crack-Away), Just Blew In From The Windy City and Secret Love.

Calamity Jane has been produced by the Watermill Theatre following its success with new productions of musicals Sweeney Todd and Sunset Boulevard.

Tom Lister most recently played Grimes and Eel in the world premiere of Water Babies at Leicester Curve.

He is better known to TV audiences for his role as Carl King in ITV’s Emmerdale, a part he played for nine years.

Also in the cast are Alex Hammond, who recently played Adam Pontipee in the national tour of Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, and Phoebe Street, who appeared in the West End in Les Miserables.

Calamity Jane is directed by Nikolai Foster, who has directed acclaimed productions of Annie and White Christmas at the West Yorkshire Playhouse in Leeds.

Calamity Jane runs from February 3 to 7. Visit bradford-theatres.co.uk or call 01274 432000 to book tickets.
