ALTERNATIVE rock act Indianic are taking part in the AboveBeyond (correct) music festival next month.

The Keighley/Wilsden five piece are one of nine bands showcasing their talents during the March 30/31 event at the Belgrave Club in Leeds.

Indianic are headlining the first night, with all money from the gig going towards the Above & Beyond movement.

Above & Beyond attempts to promote issues which its founders believe will ultimately help make society more sustainable.

Indianic member Johann Shepherd said: "The Above and Beyond movement is something everyone should have a look at because they are really trying to open people's eyes to what's possible.

“They deserve a lot of support and I think that will be reflected in the turnout next month.”

Three other West Yorkshire bands are playing on March 30, while Bradford folk duo Waiting For Wednesday will round off events 24 hours later. The Velveteens are also on the bill.

Event organiser Mark Flanagan said: "We have been amazed at the response and all the bands are really behind what we are trying to do.

"The Belgrave is relatively new but it has already established itself as one of the best gigging venues in the county.

“I am certain it has helped encourage this brilliant growth in new acts and I think West Yorkshire is set to become a centre for musical excellence once again.”

Tickets for the gigs cost £5.50 and must be booked in advance. Visit voteaboveandbeyond.org for further information.
