A TRIBUTE to a global live act phenomenon will be livening up a Keighley venue this spring.

Queen Alright will play at the Keighley Exchange Arts Centre at 7.30pm on May 9.

The group's show has been billed as a "fantastic" experience.

One of the night's organisers says: "Never has a band been more current than right now. Forget 'Queen & Adam Lambert', 'Queen Alright' put on a great show that is unmistakeably 'Queen' at the top of their game.

"Brilliant vocals and strong musicality, combined with powerful theatricality produce a superb, high-energy performance which makes for quite the night.

"This is a full-on, honest Queen tribute with killer vocals."

People who have yet to see the band have been asked to think of Queen live at Milton Keynes Bowl in 1982 blended with the 1986 Magic tour to get an idea of Queen Alright's style.

The rock band they pay homage to was formed in London in 1970, originally consisting of Freddie Mercury (lead vocals, piano), Brian May (guitar, vocals), John Deacon (bass guitar), and Roger Taylor (drums, vocals).

Queen's earliest works were influenced by progressive rock, hard rock and heavy metal, but the band ventured into more conventional and radio-friendly works.

By the early 1980s, Queen were one of the biggest stadium rock bands in the world, with Another One Bites the Dust their best selling single, and their performance at 1985's Live Aid regarded as one of the greatest in rock history.
