THE GROOVY Happening will be louder than usual as it plays host to an AC/DC tribute band.

Highway To Hull’s members include Keighley musicians Mick 'The Metal' Walsh on guitar and Charley 'Otto' Cunz on vocals.

Along with Andrew Steele, Jon Bagshaw and Matthew Wildman the pair aim to recreate the heavy-metal gods in their prime.

Groovy spokesman Ann Wiles said: “This band have been performing highly charged concerts throughout Yorkshire during the last ten years.

“Last year they headlined events at the Yorkshire Harley Davidson rally in Baildon and an all-day event for the Grand Depart in Ilkley."

During the Groovy Happening on Saturday (March 7) at the Parkside Social Club, Butt Lane, Haworth, Highway To Hull will play classic songs like Back In Black, You Shook Me All Night Long and Thunderstruck.

Also performing at the Happening will be Seventyfourpercent, a Leeds/Bradford five-piece who describe themselves as ”a collision of tastes, influences, opinions, attitudes and musical backgrounds”.

The GALI Girls are two talented and experienced performers who blend cello, guitar and magnificent vocals.

Elli from Emily Falls and Katherine from Guello, with backing from Emily Falls guitarist Paul Wilkinson, have entertained the Groovy audience many times with their bands.

Completing the line-up will be Haworth-born Nathan Harrison, known as Nay, who was the lead guitarist with Keighley band New Age Syndrome.

A soloist for three years, he has developed a unique style influenced by Newton Faulkner, Andy McKee and John Butler.

A raffle will raise money for Manorlands. Doors open at 7pm. Tickets cost £3 on the door
