WORLD class champions of contemporary circus, Cirque Eloize, are in Bradford next week with new show Cirkopolis.

Showcasing the multi-disciplinary talents of the artists, Cirque Eloize combine circus arts with music, dance and theatre.

Cirkopolis creates a vibrant, imaginary world inspired by classic films, Metropolis and Brazil.

Cirque Eloize dive head first into this fantasy world where 12 performers rebel against monotony and blur lines between dream and reality, performing within an inventive stage design and accompanied by an original musical score and video projections.

Cirkopolis unfolds scene by scene, with jugglers braving the space, contortionists lifted high into the air and aerial artists defying the height of the skyscrapers.

Jeannot Painchaud, creative director of Cirque Eloize and co-director of Cirkopolis, said: “Cirkopolis was imagined as a crossroads between imagination and reality, individuality and community, limits and possibilities.

“The show is driven by the poetic impulse of life, the physical prowess of the circus and the humour, at once serious and lighthearted.

“Entering Cirkopolis is all about letting go and allowing yourself to be borne aloft by hope.”

Cirque Éloize have been creating moving performances filled with magic since 1993.

Continually striving for artistic perfection, they are regarded as one of the leaders in contemporary circus arts.

Shows are based on the multi-disciplinary talents of Cirque Éloize’s artists, expressing their innovative nature through theatricality and humanity, and combining circus arts with music, dance and theatre.

With 10 original productions to their credit, Cirque Éloize have presented more than 4,000 performances in over 440 cities and 40 countries.
