STAND-UP comedian Jo Caulfield will perform at the Square Chapel For The Arts on Saturday.

Jo, who regularly appears on TV and radio, will perform her new show Uninformed Opinions at the Halifax venue.

Jo said that Uninformed Opinions was about misunderstandings and misinformed people.

She said: "Basically, it’s a comedy show for anyone who has ever wanted to shout, “shut up, you don’t know what you’re talking about!”.

“There’ll also be a lot of stuff about relationships, dating and why men feel the need to constantly quote lines out of gangster films.”

Jo was nominated as “best female stand-up in the country” by the Chortle website and was head writer for all five seasons of the BAFTA-winning TV show So Graham Norton.

Jo’s radio appearances include the News Quiz, Fighting Talk and Armando Iannucci’s Charm Offensive, and she had her own critically-acclaimed Radio 4 comedy show It’s That Jo Caulfield Again.

The Times newspaper said that many of the points Jo Caulfield made about the human condition would have sociologists stroking their beards in admiration, but her audiences were laughing too much to notice.

Coming up at the Square Chapel on May 9 will be stand-up comedian Robin Ince, with his new show Blooming Buzzing Confusion.

The Sony Gold award winner and three-times Chortle award winner promises to prod into people’s brains with a sharpened pencil to try and work out just how much free will anyone can have.

In other words, there’ll be lots of shouting, gesticulating, gurning and enquiring, as his curious mind goes on the rampage.
