LOTHERSDALE Live has closed its doors.
Organisers said it was making too much of a loss, and last Saturday’s gig with Steve Tilston was the final event.
The club was launched in June, with the aim of bringing top class artists in the world of folk, roots and blues to Lothersdale Village Hall.
Eddie Cullen, one of the organisers, said: “Sadly, I have not been attracting large enough audiences to make the venture viable.
“I would like to thank all of the artists who have performed, and Andy McDermott and Dave Speight, who provide excellent sound.
“Bridgehouse Brewery stayed with us, though I suspect it was not really viable, and I thank them very much for that.
My great friend, Jim McDonald, has been my mentor and my peerless MC.
“And, finally, I would like to thank the audience members who came along, enjoyed the music and supported us.”
Performers during the event’s run have included the ilk of Vin Garbutt, Jes Lowe, Bernard Wrigley, Flossie Mallavaille and Keith Donnelly.
