PAUL MERTON is taking to the road again with his world-renowned Impro Chums.

The improvisation team promise to take audience suggestions and create cascades of fantastic tumbling laughter.

Paul and his chums - Mike McShane, Lee Simpson, Richard Vranch and Suki Webster - aim to weave fun and laughter together into a richly hilarious mesh of jollity.

Paul has organised the tour following the publication of his biography, Only When I Laugh, and more than a decade of sell-out seasons at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.

Paul Merton is a founder member of The Comedy Store Players and still appears at the Comedy Store most Sundays.

He is a regular guest on Radio 4’s Just A Minute and is an established face on TV shows such as the Have I Got News For You and Room 101.

Mike McShane has appeared at the Menier Chocolate Factory in the musicals Little Shop of Horrors and Assassins and his TV work includes Doctor Who.

Lee Simpson became a member of the Comedy Store Players in 1989, and Artistic Director of Improbable, one of the country's foremost theatre companies.

Richard Vranch does voiceovers for adverts and documentaries, and as Dr Vranch has appeared on Radio 4's Infinite Monkey Cage with Professor Brian Cox.

Suki Webster is a regular guest of The Comedy Store Players and has toured the world with Paul Merton And His Impro Chums.

The Impro Chums will be at the Grand Opera House, York, on May 1 (call 0844 8713024 to book tickets) and Leeds City Varieties on June 9 (visit cityvarieties.co.uk or call 0113 2430808 to book tickets).
