SIX YEARS old and giggling all the way – that’s Keighley’s comedy club.

The monthly shows began at the Cricketers Arms in Coney Lane and recently moved to Cafe Choux Choux at Keighley railway station.

The Mitchell family, who own both venues, are still packing in the punters with tickets costing £5 for five comedians.

Chris Brooker, the long-time compere, said that since April 2009 the devoted team had been bringing the very best in live stand-up comedy to Keighley.

He said: “Month in and month out audiences have seen a choice selection of the finest comedians from all around the globe, a veritable who's who of the laughter business.”

Chris promised an exceptional award-winning line-up on April 30, featuring Mick Ferry, Fern Brady, Jo D'Arcy and Tom King as well as himself.

Chris said: “Headline act Mick Ferry makes his long-awaited return after his incredible first appearance back in the club's first year.

“Voted the best comedian on the circuit by his peers in 2013 Mick has a litany of TV credits to his name, most notably tearing it up as a part of Michael McIntyre's Roadshow.

“This Oldham native has a wealth of tales backed up by a lightning-fast mind and a razor-sharp wit.”

The main support is award-winning, brilliantly acidic comedian and writer Fern Brady.

Chris said: “She has been hailed as one of the most original and exciting comics to emerge from the circuit in recent years.”

“You may recognise her distinct Scots tones from appearances on shows like 8 Out Of 10 Cats and The Alternative Comedy Experience. Rest assured that if you're not already a fan of Fern's you soon will be.”

The night will also feature performances by up-and-coming comedians Jo D'Arcy and Tom King.

The comedy night will begin at 8.30pm. Tickets are available from the cafe, the Cricketers, or online via EventBrite.
