KEIGHLEY actress Janine McAndrew is playing a leading role in a production of The Mikado this week. (April 20-25).
Janine is performing in the classic comic operetta with Bingley Gilbert and Sullivan Society.
She is also a regular performer in the annual Gilbert and Sullivan productions at West Lane Baptist Church in Haworth.
Janine will play Katisha in The Mikado, which is being performed nightly until Saturday at 7.30pm at Bingley Arts Centre.
Janine started singing and acting many years ago with Keighley Amateurs in the chorus and graduated to principal roles in many productions.
She has played Katisha previously for the now-disbanded Bradford Gilbert and Sullivan Society.
The Mikado tells of a boy who flees an arranged marriage, only to fall in love with a girl betrothed to someone else.
