SINGER Julian Socha is among performers during the last weekend of this year’s Haworth Festival.

He will return to the village to perform at the Black Bull, at the top of Main Street, on Sunday (June 27) from 7.30pm.

Guitar wizard Julian, who has a huge following in central Europe, incorporates elements of blues, rockabilly, bluegrass and jazz into his performances.

He has perfected his technique over many years, playing solo and in bands in the UK and Europe, and has featured in many large blues festivals in Slovakia and the Czech Republic.

He moved to Slovakia in 2008, but has since returned to Britain.

Another major festival event is a performance of Brontë writings at the Cobbles and Clay cafe, Main Street, tomorrow at 6pm.

The performer, Caroline Lamb, is the artistic director and resident writer of the theatre company Dangerous To Know.

In November the company will present an unusual new play about Branwell Brontë, and Caroline is walking across the Pennines to perform and raise funds.

She said: “I will performed readings of work by the famous literary family, as well as pieces lovingly donated by kind friends, colleagues and audience members.”
