KEIGHLEY performers will feature in the cast of the musical Anything Goes in Ilkley.
The young cast of Upstagers will present Cole Porter’s sparkling musical comedy from July 15 to 18.
Their aim is to transport audiences to a magical age of high society aboard the high seas as the SS American sails from New York to Southampton.
Billy Crocker stows away after discovering that his heart’s desire, debutante heiress Hope Harcourt, is engaged to an English aristocrat.
There are a string of eccentric passengers including evangelist nightclub singer Reno Sweeney and not-so-notorious mobster Moonface Martin.
Upstagers promise sassy heroines, mischievous gangsters, dancing sailors, comedy capers and romantic high jinks.
Director Gill Jackson said: “While Anything Goes was penned in the 1930s, it’s still relevant to today’s audiences as a form of over-be-top escapist entertainment in tough times.”
