CHRISTMAS is coming, the goose is getting fat, please put a penny in the busker’s hat!

Keighley singer-songwriter Den Miller will be performing outdoors on November 20 at Harrogate Christmas Market.

He can be seen on Montpelier Hill from11am to 1pm as part of a busy late autumn of gigging.

Den said: “It means dusting off my Christmas busking set and heading out with my electric guitar, loop pedal, and most importantly, my cheap silly Santa hat!”

Ben has been on the Yuletide beat in Leeds and Bradford recently, and asks fans to suggest other places he could busk “without threats from officials”.

Earlier this month Den teamed up with acoustic duo Strid to perform at the Saltaire Winter Bandstand which – as he says in his latest blog – was neither in winter nor on a bandstand.

He’ll be back in Saltaire with his guitar for the Peace and Craft Fair on November 28, from noon till to 2pm at the village’s Victoria Hall.

Den, who regularly performs live in Keighley and Haworth, will perform without Strid at Morley Folk Club, in the town’s United Services Club, on December 1 at 8pm.

The act expands even more on December 5 for a gig at the Bay Horse, Oxenhope, from 8pm, billed as ‘Strid and the Den Miller Trio’.

The gig comes just a few weeks after Den competed in the Lancaster 10K race, raising £400 for charity.

Den also continues to play private parties and house concerts.

He said: “These gigs are always really, really special. I played one recently, and it left me elated.

“To be invited into someone’s home or private party to play to their guests is a great honour.

“After I’d finished my planned set, well, I ended up being a human jukebox until around 1am - good job the walls were thick!

Den’s debut solo album Be Where You Are, featuring what reviewers called masterly, earworm-catchy, brilliantly arranged pop/indie songs, was released this year.
