THE OCTAGON has unveiled a quartet of party nights between Christmas and New Year.

The Keighley club promises comedy, hypnotism, Sixties classics, male strippers and a funky New Year’s Eve.

The fun begins on December 27 at the Comedy Curry Club featuring comedian Lea Roberts and comedy hypnotist Chris Lee.

Lea is described as a likeable personality, accomplished after-dinner speaker and star of TV’s That’s Entertainment.

Octagon owner John Pennington said: “Here is a star in the making. The Stage magazine rates him has a complete one-off, a very funny spontaneous man.”

Chris Lee is described as the doctor of dreams and the master of trance, a professional comedy hypnotist with more than 30 years experience.

John said: “Where the mind is the body will follow, and perform amazing tasks that you will never remember until a friend shows you the photos.”

The three-hour Comedy Curry Club show includes supper and after-show music.

The Shakers, the resident band from Liverpool’s Cavern club, while on December 28 to present a 60s Big Xmas Night Out with songs by the Beatles, Swinging Blue Jeans, Gerry And The Pacemakers, Searchers, Billy Fury and Billy J Kramer.

The following night is Ladies Night featuring four-man revue X-Men, along with a drag compere, ‘buff naked butlers’ providing table service, and lingerie displays by Secret-Taboo.

New Year’s Eve features a buffet, boogie, and live party band Slingback playing “something old, something new, but something to suit you”.

The show runs from 8pm until the early hours with Funky Phil the DJ, and £25 tickets include a buffet.

Coming up at the Octagon: comedian Roy Chubby Brown (December 8), soul tribute band The Conmitments (December 4), an 80s night with Funky Phil (January 22) and tribute show Complete Madness (February 19)
